instawhat?

My last instafriday post I was in Woodburn Oregon. This
weeks post starts in Woodburn and ends at home.

I Monday July 15 we left Woodburn Oregon and drove the 101
{the coast} home.

I took way to many photos, to post the regular 9. If I had
managed to post on Friday {yes I’m a slacker} I would have done a travel
version! But lucky for you, you get 28 photos in 1 post; just click the image
to view larger. Today I leave for Vegas, for Craft & Connect other wise
known as CHA-Summer. Be sure to follow me on instagram @aimeemaddern, to see
all the product that is revealed.

nature walk: paper issues

Paper Issues has a new “issue” this week.

That’s right our issue is with Pretty Little Studio,

and
their new line Nature Walk.

And guess what I am on both teams.

Though I am not one of
the girls on the issue at PI I have some projects

I wanted to share using
Nature Walk.

First layout I want to share is my all time fave photo of
Kevin. I made this layout for the sketch challenge over at PLS .I’m sure I will
be scrapping this photo for years to come. And yes I am so “thankful for this
face” I used some real feathers and dyed them with some mist, to mix in with
the die cut feathers. I also snipped the die cut feathers to give them a little
“tattered” feel.

The second layout I want to share with you I made for the
color challenge at PLS. Again I used Nature Walk.

And I can only give you some sneaks, but I will have 2 more
projects featured on the PLS blog this week using Nature Walk.  Be sure to visit on Monday and Saturday to see
these 2 projects.

We will announce
the Blog Hop Winner on Monday, 07/15 on Samantha's Facebook

I choose to make Samantha’s tic tac toe board

I cut it about 100’s to get the layers! Ok maybe not 100!

I did cut it a whole bunch and then glued together so the
board and pieces were stable! Little fingers can easily pick up the pieces to
play.

I love displaying my work in my house and currently the
board has been gracing my coffee table. I am now traveling and slipped the
board into a zip lock and brought it along on our adventures!

Last year Kevin was traveling home from Chicago, he made it
to state line {Primm Las Vegas and Cali} just in time to see the fireworks
there. I went with my friend Shemaine, to Dodger stadium to see the fireworks!
We took this Selfie right before the fireworks started! I used my Stars &
Stripes kit to create at this layout! {the kit was a limited edition I designed
for Paper Issues, and had Chic Tag exclusive tags!}

Look for my next kit in the Paper Issues Shop coming July 15th!

Be safe and
enjoy all the Red White & Blue today!

simple scrapper: july's sketches

Simple Scrapper is no longer having blog hops. But I still
want to share my work, so I will still be posting the first Tuesday of the
month!

and to see more inspiration visit team mate Sara's blog

I really really love Jennifer’s Sketches! I know I say that
every month, but I really do. I am so thankful to be on this team. Getting
these sketches each month has really improved my scrapping skills!

I was running behind in June with all the crazy things that goes
on in my life. I only got to scrap 2 sketches. I normally scarp 3 layouts a
month for Simple Scrapper, so I am feeling like an underachiever right now!

For my first layout, I wanted to use this paper so bad but
it is sooo busy! I took this photo of me feet {go figure I took a photo of my
feet!} on a new throw rug I picked up at target for $4.99. Well I am sure glad
I snapped this photo when I did, cause the rug got washed and faded terribly!
Anyways color makes me happy and this paper makes me happy and blue toes make
me happy- I think you get it. So glad I got this all documented. When we turn
in our work at Simple Scrapper we always leave a tip for the members. I am
gonna share my tip here today, cause I know a lot of you shy away from such a
busy paper!

Maddern-july13-single1

TIP: when using a very busy background paper, scrap a simple
photo that won’t compete with the paper.

For the 2nd sketch I used the digital version and
I printed it out on cardstock. My printer was low on ink so I am having it
printed from Persnickety Prints.

I hope I like how it’s printed {really hoping it comes on a
cardstock like their instagram photos}

Jager in chair

{photo is grainy because it was taken in low light & is an instagram}

Anyways if I like how the print it, I am gonna make a bunch
more have them printed and add to my summer stories album!

Wouldn’t this template be super awesome for a December
Daily
! It’s so simple to drop the photo in the template and journal. Then embellish
with physical product later!

Wow I really had a lot to say today! Thanks for going
through all my ramblings! lol
